Sofia screamed.

Mia screamed.

Axel, Connor, and Finn smiled and gave me a hug.

"This bachelorette party will shake the pillars of Heaven," Sofia declared. "Mia, I'll need you to help me plan."

"You can count on me," she said. "I know a super fun bar in Tijuana."

"Hang on," I said. "That makes me nervous. Can we at least try to keep the three of you out of jail?"

Zoey took my side. "Both of you need to dial it back a little," she told them. "We can have fun but let's not go crazy."

Mia shrugged but Sofia looked crestfallen.

"Fine," Sofia said.

"The party is yours," Mia said. "We'll do as you wish."

Zoey looked directly at Connor. "No hookers," she stated. She moved to Axel. "No hookers." She skipped over Finn. "I know you guys will want strippers at the bachelor party," she continued, "and that's fine, but no hookers. If Aaron has sex with someone else I won't kick his ass, I'll kick yours."

In the months since that fateful night in the cabin, Finn and Zoey had exchanged maybe twenty words. There was no anger or guilt, but Zoey was intensely awkward around him. Zoey and Sofia were tighter than ever and my gut told me they'd had an open and honest conversation about the event, which she did not share with me, yet still Zoey avoided Finn.
